less expensive because it operates at low temperatures and pressure, requiring
equipment that is comparatively smaller and less expensive. Since the vacuum chamber
contains only carbon and minimal hydrogen, it can help grow colorless crystals.
Blue or yellow synthetic diamond crystals can also be produced by introducing
boron or nitrogen into the chamber.
